Much of the APS Board’s activities are reliant on partnerships with a wide range of community-based organizations. The Board works year-round to build bridges to organizations in health services, aging & disability services, financial sectors, retail, faith-based organizations, and many others. When needs for education and training arise, clients have unique support requirements, or opportunities emerge to acknowledge the hard work of APS staff, these networks can be activated.
The Board is always looking to connect with new organizations and individuals who share our passion for the work of APS. If you or your organization are interested in collaborating, reach out using our Contact Form.
One of the Board’s roles is to ensuring that APS staff feel appreciated for their difficult work, have strong community network partners and have supportive resources to achieve safe and healthy work-life balances is critical to supporting older disabled adults in our communities. In other words, those providing the resources need to feel valued, empowered and energized. Each year, the advisory supports the local APS hosted “All Staff Day” to recognize staff for their hard work and dedication to older and disabled adult community members. This day consists of fun events such as a holiday themed table decoration contest, a costume contest, singing and dancing activities and special guest speakers on health and wellness. The APS caseworker winners of the Health & Hope stories are recognized during this time. The board provides breakfast and lunch for this event and also volunteers to facilitate the event.

We are always looking for individuals who are looking to make more of an impact, to join us as a member of the Region 6 APS Advisory Board. There are minimal requirements of Board members, but a great deal of potential for motivated individuals to make a large impact in your community and throughout the region.
If you would like to know more about the Board or are ready to sign up, please share the reason for your interest on our “Join Us” page.
