Many of the Board’s activities rely on partnerships with a wide range of community-based organizations. The Board works year-round to build bridges to organizations in health services, aging & disability services, financial sectors, retail, faith-based organizations, and many others. When needs for education and training arise, clients have unique support requirements, or opportunities emerge to acknowledge the hard work of APS staff, these networks can be activated.

One of the Board’s roles is to ensure that APS staff feel appreciated for their difficult work, have strong community partners that they can rely on, and have supportive resources to achieve a safe and healthy work-life balance. These supports are critical for the APS staff who work every day to support older adults and adults with disabilities in our communities. The Board works to help APS staff feel valued, empowered, and energized.
Each December, the Board provides financial support and volunteer time for an “All-Staff Day,” hosted by Region 6 APS leadership to recognize their staff for the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout the year. This event consists of special guest speakers on health and wellness, as well as a wide range of fun activities for the APS staff, including a holiday-themed table decoration contest, a costume contest, and opportunities for singing and dancing. The APS caseworker winners of the Health & Hope Awards are also recognized during the All-Staff Day.
We are always looking for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact by joining the Region 6 APS Advisory Board. Serving on the Board requires a manageable time commitment but offers motivated individuals substantial opportunities to make a difference in their communities and throughout the region.
